Creating a blog

The third quarter has started an our first LITC project is to create this blog. Today, we learned basic information about blogs. I learned that a blog is a social network where you can post information about yourself, share ideas with friends and participate in discussions. The teacher says we have to post one blog entry per week and I have no idea what this blog project is going be like. I hope it won't be boring. I also hope to get a good grade at the end of this project.

Here is a link we used to learn more about blogs: http://www.blogbasics.com/blog-tutorial-1-1.php

  1. Hi Marlette!

You successfully completed the first task -- creating your blog, inviting me, and adding a post with a link!

I hope you will like this assignment too -- the best way to make it interesting, is to make this site reflect who you are and what you find interesting in life (well in your ICSA life, at least!).

So when you learn something new or interesting in school, share it here! Maybe a poem you like, or a picture, or something in your historuy class inspires you, tell the world about it! And don't forget to share it with your teacher's too!

Make your site interesting, not only by writing interesting posts, but by including interesting pictures and videos. It's all about you, so make it a reflection of you!

Here are a couple of other blogs you can look at to see how people made them interesting:

    http://childrenofthediasporaunited.blogspot.com (my personal favorite! ; )

    http://lizinci.blogspot.com/ (you might remember her!)

http://nycstudents.blogspot.com/ This one is a college student blog about their activities on campus.

Here's a neat blog - it has all kinds of fun tools for making banners, games, etc. http://gvccooltools.blogspot.com/

Finally, at the top of your screen in the blue toolbar, there is a "Next Blog" link. Click on it a few times, and see if you find any interesting ones. For your next post, write about one of the blogs you found and why you think it is interesting. Then, see if you can incorporate some of their ideas into your own site, too.

    The eBrarian,
    MsP

  3. I like it better than I thought I would. It's actually fun and I get to learn new things every day while exploring the blog on my own. I hope you like it as well.
